Role Overview

TP ICAP's Equity Research platform is a trusted provider of high-quality, independent research across European markets, with a particular strength in Small and Mid-Cap equities. Our MidCap team plays a critical role in identifying under-researched opportunities and delivering differentiated insights to institutional investors across Europe.

As a Finance Analyst within the MidCap Equity Research team, you will support the coverage of Italian and broader European Small and Mid-Cap companies. You will be instrumental in producing insightful, investment-led research, contributing to the development of financial models, and helping to shape market views that inform investor decision-making.

This role offers strong exposure to senior analysts, corporate management teams, and institutional clients. It is well-suited to an intellectually curious, detail-oriented individual looking to build a long-term career in equity research within a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

Role Responsibilities
  • Support coverage of Italian and European Small and Mid-Cap companies across selected sectors
  • Build, maintain, and enhance detailed financial models and valuation frameworks
  • Contribute to the preparation of high-quality research publications, including earnings notes, sector reports, and thematic pieces
  • Analyse company financials, industry trends, and macroeconomic developments to form robust investment views
  • Attend company results presentations, investor meetings, and industry conferences, summarising key insights
  • Work closely with senior analysts to develop differentiated investment recommendations
  • Effectively communicate investment ideas and market views to internal Sales teams and institutional clients
  • Monitor equity markets, news flow, and relevant developments impacting covered sectors and companies
  • Support the production of written research outputs, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timeliness

Experience / Competences

Essential
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in Equity Research (sell-side or buy-side), including internships
  • Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
  • Fluency in French (mandatory), with proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent in English and Italian (written and spoken)
  • Proven financial analysis and modelling skills, with a solid understanding of valuation methodologies
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and insightful research
  • Commercial mindset with the confidence to articulate and defend investment views, balanced with intellectual humility
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build effective professional relationships
  • High level of motivation, resilience, and ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); experience with FactSet or similar platforms is advantageous

Desired
  • Demonstrated interest in European Small and Mid-Cap equity markets
  • Experience covering Italian equities or relevant sector exposure
  • Familiarity with ESG / extra-financial analysis frameworks and data platforms
  • Progress towards, or interest in pursuing, a professional qualification (e.g., CFA)
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality output
