Applications are invited for a temporary post of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Italian Studies within the UCD School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics. The School of Languages, Linguistics and Cultures wishes to make a temporary appointment (3 years) for a Lecturer in Italian, with expertise in Italian modern and contemporary literature and culture. Candidates should have a proven ability to teach and conduct research on Italian literature of 19th / 20th century, along with experience in language teaching at university undergraduate level. Candidates must have a PhD in Italian Studies. They must have an excellent track record in research commensurate with their career stage. They will have fluent or near fluent competence in Italian combined with excellent communication skills in English. The post is within the multi-lingual, interdisciplinary School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics and the successful candidate may be involved in cross-School teaching. The successful candidate will complement the existing team of lecturing staff who have specialisms in literary and cultural studies, linguistics, and film studies.
