Why This Role Is Valuable

Your role is (including but not limited to) providing general accounting and operations support to the Opportunistic Finance team. The Associate will be preparing accounting and reporting for a number of pan European real estate portfolios of Blackstone managed investment funds and more specifically responsibilities will involve.

Reporting to: Senior Associate - Portfolio Accounting Manager


Financial Accounting
  • Review of property reporting packages prepared by local service providers and ensure their completeness and accuracy;
  • Preparation and booking of general journal entries;
  • Preparation of local and group GAAP adjustments while ensuring proper application of internal accounting policies and controls;
  • Analyze monthly and quarterly financial metrics and data (net operating income, capital expenditures, intercompany reconciliations, debt covenants, etc.);
  • Prepare intercompany reconciliations and ensure regular intercompany settlements where applicable;
  • Support periodic group budgeting process.

  • Facilitate monthly, quarterly and annual group reporting;
  • Assist with annual statutory accounts;
  • Assist with group consolidation process;
  • Liaise with external group and local auditors;
  • Assist with ad hoc reports / reconciliations.

Cash management
  • Assist in periodic cash distribution analysis and ensure timely cash repatriation to investors (cash flow analysis, tax mechanics, local regulatory requirements, etc.);.

Portfolio Management
  • Support asset management team with ad hoc financial information / analysis as required;
  • Assist with on-boarding, acquisition and disposition;

Compliance & Risk
  • Ensure legal and statutory compliance through liaison with the legal & compliance department.

Other Responsibilities
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives for all financial reporting processes;
  • Liaison with 3rd party administrators and finance teams across Europe.


What You Bring To The Role
  • Team player;
  • Result oriented and hands on mentality;
  • Excellent organization skills & attention to detail;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Degree in accounting or accounting certification (e.g. ACCA preferred);
  • 3-4 years relevant professional experience (Real Estate preferred);
  • Fluency in Italian and English (verbally and in writing) - any other language could be an advantage;
  • Proficient user of MS Office and accounting software (Yardi preferred).
